X3: Albion Prelude needs X3 Terran Conflict to run, as the former is an expansion to the latter. The expansion was released in 2013, much to the surprise of many X fans, as X Rebirth was in the works. X3: Albion Prelude is the expansion to X3: Terran Conflict. For example, the Target line for your shortcut may read "C:\X3\X3AP.X3: Albion Prelude (usually shortened to X3AP and trademarked as X 3: Albion Prelude), is a space trading and combat simulator from German developer Egosoft and is the fifth game in their X series.An add-on to 2008's X3: Terran Conflict, X3: Albion Prelude features new content, functionality and improvements, including additional ships, stations, and sectors a new plot line war scenario.Paste -language 44 at the end of the current contents of that text box.On the Shortcut tab, locate the Target text box.Right click on the shortcut and click properties.Create a shortcut to the x3ap.exe file.Ensure X3AP is set to use English localization.Update any shortcuts you use to point to X3AP.exe.GOG Only: Inside the copy of X3 Terran War Pack remove the file addon/t/gamestarts.pck if present.You will need to log into the Egosoft website, and register your CD-Key with your forum profile to access the executable. Steam Only: Download the NoSteam executable from the Egosoft website and extract it to your new x3 terran conflict folder.
Do one (and only one) of the following:.In my install I used 'C:\X3', but any location not associated with Steam (or GOG Galaxy) will do. Copy the x3 terran conflict (or X3 Terran War Pack for GOG version) folder to another location.For the GOG version it could be C:\GOG Games\X3 Terran War Pack \Steam\!SteamApps\common\x3 terran conflict.
